Á miðvikudaginn í næstu viku, þann 17.maí. verður kynning á hagnýtri íslensku við Háskóla Íslands í Háskólasetri Vestfjarða. Ólafur Guðsteinn Kristjánsson hjá Háskólasetri Vestfjarða segir það ánægjulegt að Háskólasetur og Fræðslumiðstöð fái nú aukið vægi þegar kemur að íslenskukennslu og gæti jafnvel farið svo að eitthvað verði kennt á staðnum. „Það er ekki síst ánægjulegt í ljósi þess að hörgull hefir verið á slíku námi hér á svæðinu. Kennsla verður s.s. í gegnum netið en geta nemendur ætíð leitað til Háskólaseturs upp á aðstoð að gera auk þess sem sunnanverðir Vestfirðir verða einnig þjónustaðir.“
Kynning á ensku
The University of Iceland in collaboration with the University of Akureyri and the University Centre of the Westfjords presents: Practical Diploma in Icelandic as a Second Language via distance study.
- An information session for North Iceland will be held in Akureyri Municipal Library on Friday, May 12, at 17:00.
- An information session for Westfjords will be held in the University Centre of the Westfjords, Ísafjörður, May 17, at 17:30.

The one-year practical program starts on August 21 and teaching takes place four mornings per week, from 8:20 to 9:50, or four afternoons per week, from 16:40 to 18:10, Monday to Thursday.
On-site sessions will be offered three times per semester at the University of Akureyri, the University Centre of the Westfjords or the University of Iceland. Students can choose where they attend these optional sessions.
The general entrance requirements for the Practical Diploma program are a foreign equivalent to the Icelandic matriculation examination (stúdentspróf) and a proof of English proficiency, TOEFL or IELTS (minimum score TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5).
Applicants with an Icelandic personal ID number (kennitala) can apply for the Practical Diploma until June 5 through the communication portal.
