Til að sýna samstöðu með þeim sem mótmæla vegna morðsins á George Floyd, forréttindum hvítra og lögregluofbeldi sem heimtar æ fleiri líf svartra bandaríkjamanna ætlum við að hittast á Silfurtorgi á Ísafirði kl 16:30 á sama tíma og mótmælin fara fram á Austurvelli í Reykjavík. Samstöðugjörningurinn mun hefjast á því að lesin verða nöfn svartra bandaríkjamanna sem hafa verið myrtir af lögreglumönnum og svo verður 8 mínútna og 46 sekúndna þögn, sem er sá tími sem það tók að myrða George Floyd.
In solidarity with those protesting the murder of George Floyd and the systems of white supremacy and police brutality that continue to claim Black lives in the United States of America, we will be gathering at Silfurtorg tomorrow at 16:30 at the same time as the demonstration in Austurvöllur. The demonstration will begin with reading the names of Black people murdered at the hands of police officers and then, 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence to represent the length of time it took to murder George Floyd.
